Re-christened the Regency San Juan Capistrano, the theatre has undergone a major renovation,\u00a0now utilizing a Moroccan theme and featuring an eatery, &#8220;Rick&#8217;s Cafe&#8221; (both a nod to the film &#8220;Casablanca&#8221;).\u00a0The theatre has also added stadium seating and cut the original screen count by one; the lost auditorium is likely a concession to the addition of the cafe and an adjoining lounge area.\u00a0Of particular note,\u00a0a second floor auditorium has been designated as a &#8220;VIP screening room&#8221;,\u00a0offering food and alcohol service.<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-473\" style=\"border: black 2px solid;\" title=\"Regency San Juan Capistrano Theatre\" src=\"http:\/\/cinelog.org\/cinelog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/franciscanplaza-300x183.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cinelog.org\/cinelog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/franciscanplaza-300x183.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cinelog.org\/cinelog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/franciscanplaza-150x91.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cinelog.org\/cinelog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/franciscanplaza.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>By chance, the reopening fell just\u00a0a couple weeks shy of the ten year anniversary of Edwards closing the theatre on 5\/19\/00.
